Between 2016 and 2017, in accordance with the benchmark of the Europe 2020 Strategy to reduce early school-leaving (ESL) to 10%, the project Edu-Action promoted a joint action among organizations from six different countries of the world to share existing practices and discover new ones to face the topic of early school leaving.
Following this experience, the project Edu-Action 2.0 has been set up to start a new cooperation with youth organizations from Kenya, Nepal, Uruguay, Estonia and Spain with a view to increasing the levels of school attendance. The objective is to promote the exchange of good practices to combat early school leaving in these countries through mobility activities undertaken by 12 youth workers from partner organizations.
As an innovative character of this action, they will experience a double job shadowing period: they will spend one month in their home town accompanying and coaching another youth worker taking part in the project, whilst in the following month they will travel abroad, being hosted by one of the partner organizations and coached by another youth worker, in line with a peer-to-peer learning approach.
Edu-Action 2.0 will promote meetings and study visits, the development of a research about the impact of youth work on the prevention of early school leaving and the creation of an awareness raising campaign about the importance of education processes and school attendance.
Edu-Action 2.0 is funded by Erasmus+ program (Capacity Building for Youth in ACP Countries, Latin America and Asia) and lasts from December 2018 to April 2020.

Who do you want to become when you grow up? That is the question we have asked six youngsters coming from the countries taking part in Edu-Action 2.0. Six professionals, embodying the models and careers these boys and girls wish to follow, talked to them and gave them some tips to succeed. How far this chat will take them? We don't know, but we are sure that education matters. Education can do it.
