Mariia from Russia |
Sofia from Chile |
Mariia is second-year media design student from Siberia, now studying at Pallas University of Applied Sciences in Tartu, Estonia.
I moved to Estonia a few years ago because I have Estonian roots. At the age of 15, I joined the Estonian community in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk. Also, I have a lot of experience in participating in different exchange programs, for example, I visited the Estonian language camps, and I took part in “Back to our roots” programs. In the summer of 2021, I did a professional internship at Viinistu Art Harbour. This year I will do my internship at Seiklejate Vennaskond funding by KÜSK. I am interested in art, design, and photography. |
Sofia is a 22 year old Chilean girl with Estonian roots.
Last year I attended the “Back to Our Roots" program in September, where I got the chance to know Estonia and meet new people with Estonian roots. This was an amazing experience that has given me a lot of new opportunities. I made really good friends, and learned so much with them. I visited my older brother who lives in Tallinn and met my relatives from Tartu for the first time. Currently I am a film student at Universidad Mayor in Santiago. After I finish my studies, my plan is to move to Estonia and start my life there and pursue my professional career as a filmmaker. Since last year, my bonds with Estonia have only grown stronger, and this time I'll have the chance to visit during July and August with this amazing internship opportunity given by KÜSK. |
