17. - 27. august training course near Tõrva, Estonia took place
Project aimed of finding holistic and simple solutions for guiding young people under mental and physical stress. We shared and provided workable methods, exercises and approaches for specialists who work with young people. While writing the application we understood how important is that youth workers would learn to see and understand the mental health problems. Youth workers are tools for youth finding help and guidance. Time we spent together was really intense (in a good way) and valuable experience for participants. Timetable was filled with several breathing, meditation and other holistic methods. Nevertheless, participants also took part of group sessions in a more traditional way. Every national team had a chance to present their country throught songs, dances or quizzes during the diversity nights. Together we also celebrated 20th of August which is symbolic for Estonians as it represents our Restoration of Independence in 1991. As much as the weather allowed, we spent time outdoors. Most memorable members of our group for many participants were robotic lawn mowers Rogers and Robert, that's how we named them, who were working daily around our venue. Besides that more surprising moments happened in Tõrva, where we visited the local school and facilities around it, adventure park and water jumping tower. Connection with local community was appreciated by participants. Due the small group people could connect with each other good. There was no shame to talk about difficult topics and sharing individual's own experience, even if sometimes it might have hurt. Program was combined well, there was balance in theoretical and practical parts. Space for individual and group thoughts. And whch is most important, everyone left with head full of ideas and methods to keep mental health balanced for yourself and people who surround you!
